The centrepiece and culmination of this anniversary celebration is Dido and Aeneas, arguably Purcell's greatest work.
The first half of the programme features music composed for the Chapel Royal and Westminster Abbey including string anthems Rejoice in the Lord always and O Sing unto the Lord and string trio sonatas.

The three concerts in this celebratory day will feature the principal genres in which one of the greatest English Composers worked.

The Yorkshire Baroque Soloists and Director Peter Seymour have been regular visitors to Warwick over the last twenty years. Formed in 1973, they have made many broadcasts on Radio3 and West Deutsche Rundfunk, and are frequent performers in festivals in the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany.
