Formed in St Petersburg in 2000, the Atrium first hit the headlines here when they won First Prize and the Audience Prize in the London International String Quartet Competition at the Wigmore Hall in 2003.
They opened the Royal Pump Rooms season triumphantly in 2007 and the invitation to return was immediate. Their performance of Shostakovich No 3 was breathtaking, so the opprtunity to hear their interpretation of No 9 promises to be another occasion.
