Leamington Music completes its fifth year with this series of six concerts, which follow a winter season of over 20 concerts and the Leamington Music Festival Weekend, held over the first May Bank Holiday.
The 2011 Leamington Music Festival Weekend (29 April to 3 May) has ten concerts devoted to Romantic composers with Brahms, Strauss, Dvorak and Smetana to the fore. Artists include the Apollon String Quartet and Smetana Piano Trio from the Czech Republic and pianists Gottlieb Wallisch from Austria and Noriko Ogawa from Japan. British artists involved include the Primrose Piano Quartet, Piatti String Quartet, Ensemble 360, Richard Hosford clarinet, Madeleine Mitchell violin, Gemma Rosefield cello and Simon Crawford-Phillips piano.
Each winter, Leamington Music runs three series of concerts. The International String Quartet series at the Royal Pump Rooms Leamington Spa, the Early Music series at St Mary's Church Warwick and Music in the Round at the Bridge House Theatre Warwick. Other concerts include the Leamington Music Prize winners event and collaborations with the Royal Spa Centre and Kingsley School.
The Leamington Music Education Programme has grown enormously in the last few months, thanks to backing from trusts and other sources. Leamington Music is keen to make new contacts with schools and other groups that could benefit from the Programme. Please call the Leamington Music office on 01926 497000.
