Catherine Manson and Michael Gurevich violins, John Crockatt viola, Jonathan Manson cello

Krommer   Quintet in B flat Op 95
Haydn   Quartet in D Op 71 No 2
Weber   Quintet in B flat Op 34

For its fifth concert in Leamington, the London Haydn Quartet comes with one of the world’s leading exponents of the historical clarinet – and owner of a collection of more than one hundred clarinets – the American-born Eric Hoeprich. Together they play two quintets written some thirty years after Mozart’s popular masterpiece, which is programmed for 15 March. Weber wrote for Heinrich Baermann, as Mozart did for Anton Stadler and Krommer was a prolific and brilliant writer for wind too.
